Discovered on Trendir, this super-compact apartment located in the heart of Madrid’s historic centre provides a decent and comfortable living environment for a single person. As expected, the loft designed by Beriot Bernardini Arquitectos incorporates a series of smart storage solutions enhancing a little bit the feeling of space: the stairs, for instance, have drawers. A mini-wardrobe is unveiled when needed. The bedroom is located above the kitchen, allowing you to breathe freely, without transforming your sofa into a bed. The sink, the dishes and the microwave are all masked. The plywood furniture, compact and specially designed for this place, was entirely built in a carpenter shop.
The space functions as a micro-apartment providing just enough room to store the essential elements for a decent lifestyle. The furniture, all-white, opens up the living room. Despite the limited space, the loft boasts a living room, a bathroom, a kitchen and an independent sleeping area. When dealing with small compact homes, every meter matters, therefore the space has been wisely “exploited”.
